Yate & District Athletic Club

Founded in 1983, Yate & District Athletic Club is a friendly, inclusive track and field club based at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex. We welcome athletes of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to national-level competitors, and partner with Westbury Harriers for cross country running.

With over 25 qualified coaches, we offer expert guidance across all disciplines, specialist club nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and opportunities to compete in local and national leagues. We also provide training for those interested in coaching or officiating, helping athletes, families, and volunteers get involved in every aspect of the sport.

Yate & District Athletic Club Para & Adaptive Athletics

At Yate AC, we believe in respecting the individual and adapting the activity. Our Para and Adaptive Athletics programme is designed to support athletes with sensory, physical and learning needs - whether you're just starting out or aiming for international competition.

We offer several weekly sessions year-round, tailored to different age groups and abilities. Activities include wheelchair racing, frame running, seated throws, and more, using specialist equipment and accessible indoor and outdoor facilities.

Yate & District Athletic Club Junior Academy

Yate AC Junior Academy is the perfect starting point for young athletes in school Year 4 and above. Sessions run throughout the week - including evenings and weekends - and introduce children to a wide range of events such as sprinting, long jump, high jump and javelin. Athletes are grouped by age and rotate through different disciplines to build a strong foundation in all aspects of athletics. The Academy acts as a stepping stone to Club Nights and competitive opportunities, and is ideal for those seeking fun, fitness or a future in athletics.

We’re proud to launch the South Gloucestershire Falcons, a new girls-only rugby team for Girls ages 11-16 , based at Yate RFC. Whether you’re experienced or new to the sport, you’ll find a welcoming, supportive, and empowering environment, with qualified coaches, a female-led leadership team, and completely free sessions.

 

Partnering with England Rugby and the Bristol Bears through their Connexion programme, we offer high-quality training and strong pathways for girls to grow, compete, and thrive. With the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to get inspired, get involved, and be part of the movement.

Yate Hockey Club

Yate hockey club is a vibrant and inclusive place to socialise, be part of a community and hockey family and somewhere to get fit and have fun whatever your ability level. Our members are from all walks of life and love hockey, we’re friendly, welcoming and enjoy seeing new players having fun whilst playing hockey.

South Gloucestershire Drone Club (SGDC) was established in August 2021. We are a friendly, dedicated group of FPV enthusiasts in the South Gloucestershire and Bristol area. We have club members based all over Bristol and the South West. Proudly racing 5 inch drones, wings and whoops in first person view.
